I am an Assistant Professor at the Department of Strategic Management & Entrepreneurship, Rotterdam School of Management of Erasmus University, the Netherlands. I have obtained my Ph.D. at Tilburg University, where I also completed a Research Master in Business with a specialization in Organization and Strategy at Tilburg University.
My research centers on the question of how novelty, usefulness, and performance interrelate. In particular, I am interested in studying why some individuals and organizations are able to reap greater rewards from their different, creative, or novel behaviour compared to their peers — with a particular interest in the social and institutional processes at play. I study empirical settings where being different plays a crucial role, such as the creative industries, academia, and the biopharmaceutical industries. You can find more information on my past and current research projects here.
